Abstract�� Modeling and simulation(M&S) is a new and synthetic technology which has become the third means for recognizing and rebuilding the objective world besides the theory analysis and experiment research. Firstly, the concept of simulation system lifecycle management(SSLM) was proposed according to the requirement of M&S. Then it was pointed out that as an important supporting technology, SSLM can manage all the process and information in simulation system lifecycle and implement the functions which cannot be implemented by product lifecycle management(PLM) system. On the basis of the three-dimensional lifecycle model, the ontology-based method of SSLM content management was presented. The SSLM oriented ontology was built, which includes base ontology, domain ontology and application ontology. Finally the predicates in the SSLM ontology definition were organized into query sentences and semantic-based model searches were realized.
