Abstract�� In the milling procedure, the distribution of stress inside material is uneven, which makes the work-piece deformed and affects shape and dimension precision. Adopting the analysis of finite element method(FEM) , the elastic-plastic constitutive equation was established with the theory of incremental method of FEM. Based on the end mills milling procedure, the reasonable two-dimension milling model was established, which uses the adaptive meshing criteria. A typical steel work-piece milling procedure was simulated, which gets the total status of residual stress distribution and the status of received force in the milling procedure, which is very significant in engineering.
