Abstract�� Microcellular plastics is a kind of special foamed plastic with some unique mechanical properties. On the basis of tensile test data of microcellular polycarbonate, some mechanical properties are investigated in this paper, including the effects of density and strain rate on the tensile stress-strain curves. Finally, the numerical fits to tensile constitutive relation of microcellular polycarbonate are performed by means of Boltzmann's principle and relaxation modulus. A good agreement between theoretical prediction and experimental data is obtained.
