Abstract�� A symmetric resonant-triad theoretical model was proposed to describe the turbulent coherent structures in the near-wall region of a turbulent boundary layer. Based on this model, the Reynolds-stresses were calculated, their production rates, dissipation rates and transport were evaluated. Consistence of the present results with DNS suggests that the aforementioned theoretical method could reasonably embody the physical mechanism of near wall region turbulence, giving a possibility of modeling the near-wall turbulent flow with the knowledge of coherent structures.
