Abstract�� With the recent explosive growth of the Internet, the QoS (Quality of Service) in the data transmission plays an important role in the real-time and multimedia applications. And it is one of the crucial features of ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) networks to provide different QoS to different user-s applications with diverse transparent attributes and grades. With the idea of the Differentiated Services, this paper maps some IP applications to appropriate classes of service in ATM, designs the Differentiated Services policy by different QoS parameters, and implements the Network QoS Model in the NS2 simulator on the base of the Differentiated Services Code Point protocol in CIPOA (Classical IP over ATM).
