Abstract�� The friction coefficient of ferromagnetic flow under boundary lubrication exhibits regular change in the presence of applied direct electric fields. The diverse effect of electric potential and magnetic field generated by direct electric current on the friction of ferromagnetic flow under boundary lubrication was investigated, and control mechanism of electric field acting on friction coefficient was proposed. An experiment to measure the micro displacement between the contacting surface of both pin and disk was conducted. The result of measurement verified the validity of proposed mechanism.
