Abstract�� Due to the large-deformation and large-strain, in addition to the three non-linearity (geometry, physics and contact) coupling with one another during the stamping process, the computational process is extraordinarily complicated. Based on the principle of virtual work, this paper deals with elastic-plastic FEM(Finite Element Methods) of sheet metal stamping process, and then this method is introduced into related analysis processes. At the same time, by using Updated Lagrange Method, a formulation of FEM is deduced, a FEM model of sheet metal stamping process is proposed, and a corresponding analysis program is developed. Numeric results obtained from an automotive oil pan are illustrated to show the model-s validity.
