Abstract�� A harmful effect on stability and tracking accuracy of the system was produced by the time-delay of tracker in an image-based target tracking system. Analyzing the ideal control command of the electro-optical platform servo system, a delay compensation method based on adaptive estimation was proposed. This method used target position and unmanned aerial vehicle position and attitude to predict the control signals of the electro-optical platform. The target velocity was estimated by an adaptive estimation rapidly. The results of simulation show that the tracking accuracy of the electro-optic platform as the target maneuvers and the unmanned aerial vehicle maneuvers can be improved effectively.
