Abstract�� As the differences between functional dimensions and modeling parameters of the product bring limitations on the application of parameter-driven technique in tolerance analysis, a method based on functional dimension-driven technique was presented. Traditional dimensions were defined by constraints between geometric elements of the product model, and the mapping mechanism between functional dimension set and modeling parameter set was analyzed. The problem of functional dimension driven was converted to the solution of a set of non-linear equations, which was then solved by Newton's method. These methods were implemented on the UG system, and applied to analyze a selected mechanism.
