Abstract�� Referring to the object of tactical FOG (fiber-optic gyro) IMU (inertial measurement unit), the relationship between the environmental temperature and its measurement accuracy was analyzed. An applied temperature control method was put forward to bate the interference of external temperature on IMU. It optimizes temperature control scheme and control algorithm, which are based on thermal analysis and simulation. And according to it, a digital temperature control system based on fuzzy PID(proportion integration differentiation) algorithm was designed for IMU. Influence to the precision of gyros and accelerometers when without temperature control and with temperature control was respectively studied. The results of experimentation indicate precision temperature control to ameliorate inertial parts′ thermal condition could favor to improve the performance of IMU.
