Abstract:
Reading comprehension is an important part in CET-6, whose reliability and validity have become a focus for a long time. Taking new CET-6 exam questions as samples, the article attempts to analyze the content validity of the reading comprehension part in CET-6 from the prospective of text input and expected output. Results indicate that CET-6 reading comprehension conforms to the standards of
CET-6 Testing Syllabus and tallies with the specifications of
College English Syllabus. At the same time, it proves to be an effective test for the reading ability of the examinees. Even so, it still needs to be improved so as to obtain a better validity.
