Abstract: Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony marking the centenary of the Communist Party of China on July 1st, 2021. He expounded youth issues in the last part of his speech which expresses the key points of Xi Jinping's view on youth, thus providing scientific basis for understanding the value of youth from the dimensions of value, history and practice. From the perspective of youth's characteristics, social responsibilities and their significance to the party, youth are "the future and hope" of the country, the nation and the party. And they have been "in the vanguard of the drive to rejuvenate the nation" in all periods of revolution, construction, reform, and the new era throughout the history of the Communist Party of China for more than a hundred years. To build up youth's right values and promote their growth and success under the new historical conditions, it's necessary to encourage them to become more proud, confident, and assured in their identity as Chinese people, and this can provide a fundamental basis for carrying out youth work in the new era.
