Effect of Entrepreneurial Narrative on Resources Acquisition of New Ventures

Abstract:

Narrative is a necessary way for entrepreneurs to obtain external resources.18 entrepreneurial narratives from the TV show "Winning in China" are selected as the research sample and the data is obtained by video encoding method. The effect of entrepreneurial narrative on the resources acquisition of new ventures is studied and the mediating mechanism of cognitive legitimacy is tested. The results show that preparedness and passion of entrepreneur narrative have significant effects on cognitive legitimacy, preparedness of entrepreneur narrative has positive influence on resource acquisition through the mediation mechanism of cognitive legitimacy. The passion of entrepreneurial narrative has no significant influence on resource acquisition.
