Based on a comprehensive summary of practical experience, this thesis puts forward a guideline for graduates’ education, which is “Broaden research base, focus on the latest developments, form a team of research faculty and initiate self-renovation,” and concludes three training modes for top-notch innovative graduates. This thesis also expatiates the significance, specific measures and working effectiveness of strengthening the cultivation of top-notch innovative graduates, according to their types and characteristics.
On the basis of depth Analysis about the risk factors of the graduate education informationization, the graduate education informationization risk evaluation index system was set up. According to the fuzziness of the evaluation indexes, fuzzy mathematics and neural network were integrated to construct the fuzzy neural network (FNN) evaluation model. Finally, 12 universities were taken as samples to illustrate applicability of FNN in the application of evaluation on graduate education informationization risk. The results show that the model has good applicability to improve the network after training, postgraduate education can be widely used in information-based risk assessment.
Academic communication is one of the most important methods in improving graduates’ capacity in scientific research. It plays an important role in the process of graduates’ cultivation. Based on several years’ practice and exploration, this thesis proposes the principle of “one platform, three patterns” as the guideline of the construction and working model of graduates’ academic communication system. We hope this thesis could help solve the practical problems existing in graduates’ academic communication and make a beneficial attempt to cultivate innovative talents.
The postgraduate courses are one of the important aspects of postgraduates cultivation. One of the important problems to be faced with is to establish effective evaluation methods on the teaching quality and to promote the improvement of the in-class teaching quality. Based on the general idea that postgraduate courses teaching is to cultivate the knowledge innovation capability of the postgraduates, this article proposes that the evaluation on postgraduate courses teaching should include three levels of contents, i.e. the frame system of the discipline courses, the brief outline and contents of the courses teaching, and the evaluation on the innovation capability of the postgraduates. This article also proposes that the evaluation should establish an evaluation method combining the teachings’ evaluation learning, the postgraduates’ on-line evaluation on teaching, and the teaching evaluation from the teaching steering group and experts. Through the evaluation on the postgraduate courses teaching, the reformation on the teaching mode and teaching quality are improved.
Combined with the practice and exploration of BUAA, this paper proposes several measures on the improvement of the degree conferral quality of graduate students: re-orientating the goal of degree examination, which is from the needs of personnel training for national construction, i.e. training corresponding high-level personnel with knowledge, ability and quality; improving the degree standards, leading the training quality of graduate students; upholding graduate students’ participation in scientific and technological research and development, enhancing their ability of scientific and technological research and development; encouraging graduate students’ participation in the organization of scientific and technological achievements, improving their quality of scientific and technological research and development; and improving the school-faculty mechanism of degree examination, fully mobilizing the initiative of the Sub-Commission.
Original FOAK (First-Of-A-Kind) ability in technology is crucial for the future development of our nation. Among all the education phases, higher education is of special importance in the cultivating of this ability. Enhancing the original FOAK ability of doctoral candidates is a key issue, however. Research shows that doctoral dissertations can be categorized into two different types, original innovation type and tracking research type. A major quantitative parameter for evaluating original FOAK cultivation mode is the proportion of original innovation type dissertations to all the dissertations investigated. In the research group of the author, for example, the parameter was increased from 3.45% to 28.57% as the original innovation cultivation mode is adopted.
As a developing innovative nation, it requires advanced innovative talents. According to this requirement and the feature of the overlapping of the instrument subjects and their practicality, this article has proposed an idea --advanced innovative talent, featuring the prominent original innovation ability, outstanding engineering practice ability and prominent international communication and cooperation competence, in engineering field. In this paper, there is a conclusion of cultivating advanced innovative talent system. The authors have explored and practiced a training model of how to educate the high-level innovative talents with three key abilities. They have realized the synchronization of cultivating advanced innovative talents and creating high-research results.
A new cultivation mode of the postgraduates as an innovative team was promoted and put into practice. In the whole cultivating process, open running and engineering practice as well as cultivation and innovation within a team have persisted. Emphasis was placed especially on the advanced engineering educational concept, which pays attention to the cultivation of the ability of innovation, integration and team cooperation. The aim of this cultivation mode is to satisfy the need of talents on research, design, manufacture and management for China’s large aircraft project.
Education of doctoral candidates is a refining education. Innovation ability of doctoral candidates is a tactic necessity of “empowering the country by bringing up professional talents”. This paper is a research result based on the analysis of training actualities of electronic information engineering in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and in accordance with the trends of electronic information sciences and technologies. In the paper, we proposed a new method which will upgrade innovation ability of doctoral candidates by constructing a practicing base which is based on common experimental centre of graduates. We also gave specific contents of the practicing base.
Starting from cultivating innovative thinking and innovative ability of postgraduates, an international cooperation’s teaching mode of postgraduate high quality courses of technology of automotive electronic software and hardware was found. International, forward, research-oriented and innovative are the prominent features of the course contents. Some investigation type innovative teaching modes, such as quiz teaching mode, discussing teaching mode, suggesting teaching mode and intercommunion teaching mode, were used in teaching process. The investigation type innovative teaching modes inducted students to bring forward questions and analyzing issues. Under the international cooperation’s teaching mode, a system of teaching materials and reference information based on international original edition teaching materials was established. And a cultivating mode of PhD students of international cooperation was set up for cultivating high level PhD students. The result of the practice shows that the comprehensive quality, innovative consciousness and ability of the students have been improved obviously.
The development of international graduate education program at School of Astronautics, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, is reviewed in the paper. According to international demand, three majors related to aerospace discipline for international master/doctor students as well as corresponding teaching programs are established. A series of aerospace feature curriculums given in English are also set up. Meanwhile, the school has built the management system and a team consisting of supervisors and specialty course teachers for the program. By years of exploration and practice, the quality of the graduates awarded degrees from the program has widely gained positive international recognition. The program is also promoting related international education and exchange at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
In order to set up the Asia-Pacific Region Education Center, a master program on Space Technology Applications (MASTA) has been developed after researching the cultivating the model of the Regional Centers for Apace Science and Technology Education (affiliated to the United Nations) and the master programs of the International Space University (ISU). There are two stages in MASTA. The first stage is a 9-month core course study. The second stage is (6～24)-month advanced research project. MASTA is designed for foreign graduates and is an application-oriented program with an emphasis on promoting the technology developments in China and has distinct characteristics, such as modularized curricula design, focusing on operation training, etc. MASTA has been highly commended by the international students and their organizations.
Targeting at the main problems of the passivity, stylization and singleness in traditional experiment teaching, we investigated and drew on a 3-year cumulative data on distributions of course selection, experiment level and experiment results about the “application of information technology”, studied the relationship among practicability, personal interest and driving potential of study, and built the personal study-driven model. Furthermore, we proposed a teaching idea based on “active obstacle setting” by analyzing the relationship between study-driven factors and the key elements in experiment teaching system, and establish experiment teaching system based on “active obstacle setting” for information technology application. With five-year teaching practices, its scientific and rational nature was proved, and it was more effective on students' ability training, study-driven force improvement and favorable operation on experiment teaching system.
Practice is the basis and characteristics of instrument science and technology, therefore, the experiment part is the most important one during the graduate education course. The advanced test technology based graduate innovation experiment platform is constructed and realized in this paper. The method of modularization is introduced in this platform, thus the combination of different modules is realized to finish the different experiment requirement. And the interface of different sub-platform is redundant in order to satisfy the adjustment of experiment contents, thus the open and extended design idea is practiced. It is illustrated by the practical operation that the graduate experiment platform has made outstanding achievements in developing students’ ability to innovate.
In order to meet the requirement of innovation professionals and with a view to complex life-cycle mechatronic system, this paper presents a new three-dimension professional training system (TPTS) and realization environment based on aeronautics, astronautics and product life-cycle management for mechatronic engineering. Through investigating the connotation of product life-cycle, extract and optimize the essential knowledge in theoretical courses, practical courses and science and technology innovation platform. By aid of the international teaching resources, the TPTS can improve students’ theoretical level with importing dynamic international courses and expand collaborative research project. Making use of the innovation platform, TPTS provides the independent innovation environment for students, improves their innovation trait and trains excellent research talent for the society. Application indicates that TPTS based on information drive, key knowledge factors and international outlook can improve the professional quality comprehensively of mechtronic engineering.
In this paper, the author elaborates on the necessity of reform of graduate mathematics public course system, then gives some instructive thinking and method of Beijing university of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the effects of the reform.
