Based on our study of the cross-disciplinary education model in American universities, this paper further investigates its features of language study and culture education. Through an analysis of its "applied language studies" and "American Culture Courses", these two program-oriented fields have some typical features: 1) disciplinary and educational breadth in the curriculum; 2) cooperation and openness in the courses and programs; 3) addition of theoretical elements in applied studies; 4) a combination of speciality elements into the culture courses. All these features may tend to be of significance in our relevant cross-disciplinary construction.
