In the light of the Conceptual Blending Theory, this paper explores the process and characteristics of the conceptual blending of the construction "La(拉)+N" in Chinese and "pull+N" in English. Great similarities have been found in the comparison as represented in the following three perspectives: Blending has both been achieved through composition, completion and elaboration. Three hierarchies of the conceptual blending have been observed in both, that is, low, middle and high hierarchy. The hierarchies of the conceptual blending have both been found in direct proportion to the structural stablity and semantic integrity of the "V+N" construction in the two languages. The findings once again confirm the important role that cognition has played in the comprehension of language behind different linguistic units.
