Abstract:
To develop corruption and anti-corruption (CAC) research into a special discipline in China will be greatly beneficial to the theoretical study, education and training of professionals in this area, and also the deepening of anti-corruption practice. By analyzing discipline development elements and conditions, the author finds that it is possible to promote CAC research into an independent discipline. Due to the high complexity of both corruption and anti-corruption, the basic characterization of this discipline is interdisciplinary.Based on the current National Subject System of China, CAC involves an interplay of seven different subject areas. Therefore, the long-term objective for the development of CAC discipline is to establish an independent discipline; the intermediate goal is to become an independent first-level-discipline affiliated to the management discipline; and the short-term aim is to set up CAC directions under some related existing disciplines.
