Abstract:
The popularity of we-media platforms such as Weibo, Postbar, WeChat and Tik Tok enables we-media users to have a relatively independent say. However, because of the poor legal consciousness of the related subjects, the impolitic implementation of network real-name system, and imperfect accountability mechanism, the media platforms and their users abuse the rights to distribute and disseminate inflammatory and offensive language, pictures, videos and other information, which damages the benign development of the media platforms, infringes the lawful rights and interests of other people, and even impairs the public interests. Preventive measures to curb we-media information violence should be implemented in three stages:prevention in advance, supervision in process, and accountability afterwards, so as to ensure the development of we-media within the scope of law.
