Does Marx Have a View of Life: A Critical Examination of the Two Arguments

Abstract: Is there a view of life in Marx’s thought? Is Marx himself concerned with the reality of human life? There form two opposing views in the academic community in the discussion of such issues: one point of view argues that Marxism itself is isolated from the philosophy of life and there is no Marx’s view of life at all; the other point of view holds that the philosophy of life is the pinnacle of Marx’s thought, and Marx’s view of life is essentially an abstract humanitarianism. In fact, both views are biased. After the objective investigation and analysis of these two arguments, it is not difficult to find that Marxism is neither an “economic determinism” or a “scientism”, nor an abstract humanitarian doctrine. The thought of human life is actually inherent in the whole system of Marx’s thought and theory.
