Abstract: Adapting the basic tenets of Marxism to fine traditional Chinese culture has opened up a new realm of theoretical innovation for the Communist Party of China (CPC) and expanded the field of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times. The basic tenets of Marxism and fine traditional Chinese culture are compatible in social ideal, inherent characteristics, philosophical bases and value orientation, which lays a foundation for their adaptation. Standing at a new historical starting point and promoting their adaptation is of great significance for leading the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, opening up a new path of Chinese modernization and expanding a new form of human civilization. Therefore, the CPC must adhere to the spirit of historical initiative, uphold fundamental principles and break new ground, follow the practice orientation of mutual learning, and constantly draw on the strength of truth and wisdom to follow the path of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times in the new era.
