Abstract:
The new liberal arts initiative requires the traditional majors of liberal arts to reorganize their courses to form the intersection of arts and sciences, and gradually establish the cultivation mode for interdisciplinary talents of new liberal arts with Chinese characteristics. Based on the brief analysis of the shortcomings of current cultivation mode for interdisciplinary talents of liberal arts in China, the paper reviews the development of liberal arts in Beihang University since the university was founded, and introduces the connotation and practice plan of the cultivation mode of strengthening mathematical foundation. In addition, it proposes concrete measures to cultivate interdisciplinary talents from six aspects: renewing the concept of talent cultivation, optimizing the cultivation mode for interdisciplinary talents, establishing curriculum knowledge system, integrating excellent interdisciplinary teachers, building joint training platform, and constructing evaluation index. Taking the course Introduction to Statistics as an example, the paper explores the practice of the cultivation of interdisciplinary talents in new liberal arts in Beihang University.
