Abstract:
At the critical stage of global economic recovery in 2023, under the background of the increasingly improved top-level digital economic policy, gaining a say and favorability in the international digital economic order has become an important driving force for the development and construction of digital industry, market, and governance system. Therefore, interpreting the current status of international communication under the theme of China’s digital economy has become a key to answering the question of “how a developing China will get along with the world”. Based on the situation of “internationalization”, the paper selects the GDELT database and GKG 2.0 application as the basic data sources, and identifies three first-level themes and 18 second-level themes with the grounded method. It also presents and analyzes the current status of international communication of issues related to China’s digital economy from three dimensions — the total number of mentions of the issues, the amount of coverage of mainstream media and their attitudes towards the issues, and the communication power of social media — and draws the following three conclusions: relevant issues have gained a high degree of communication; public opinion environment is not favorable, and there is still large room for improvement. All this can provide some empirical countermeasures and suggestions for developing the digital economy system and improving international public opinion environment.
