Research on International Comparison of Industry TFP Level

  • 摘要: 全要素生产率水平的国际比较是生产率国际比较的重要组成部分,在行业国际竞争力研究中占有重要地位。从超越对数生产函数出发,分别建立了以物量和价格表示的行业TFP水平的国际比较理论模型,并以中国和日本1995年33个行业的产出和投入数据为例,测算其TFP水平差距。结果表明,1995年,中国仅有7个行业的TFP比日本大,体现了相对日本的价格竞争优势。
    Abstract: International comparison of industry TFP level is an important part of productivity-s international comparison and plays an important role in industry international competitiveness research. This paper respectively derives the model measuring TFP level gap from the bilateral translog production function and from bilateral translog price function. Then the paper reports 33 industries- TFP gap between China and Japan for the 1995 benchmark year by using the latter model. The finding is that only 7 industries- TFP in China are bigger than the ones in Japan in 1995, which reflects price competitive advantage to Japan.
