The Metaphorical Thinking in Economic Language

摘要: 尝试通过对主要经济概念growth的案例分析来阐释growth词语搭配中所蕴含的两大类概念隐喻及其看似不协调的源域共同映射于目标域这一辩证统一的构筑过程,从而进一步揭示经济英语中的隐喻性思维。这不仅将有助于加深人们对经济本质的认识和经济语篇的理解,对于英语教学也有实践价值。

Abstract: The paper attempts to further uncover the metaphorical thinking in economic Engl ish language through exploring the collocational behavior of growth and the mapp ing process of the ideational metaphors it embodies. Such investigation has both linguistic and pedagogical significance.
