Abstract: With regional economy as its starting point, the corresponding index system is proposed in this paper. The economic and social development indexes in four major areas in Beijing from 1993 to 1999 are comprehensively, by means of the principle component analysis based on the data tables indexed by time, analyzed with the growth pole theory, which provides a theoretical gist for non-balanceable development strategy making in Beijing.
