Abstract: When giving an account of her own life experience in the novel, Chen Ran express es her desire for maturity both as a female and as a female writer. This paper a ttempts to explore the subject matter of "growth" in Chen Ran's novel with her childhood memory, sexual cognition and re-introspection of her parents as the access points.
