Abstract: The causes of non-dominant disciplines of key universities are analyzed, and four typical rivals are chosen in order to do a competitive analysis of faculty, research and education, based on the characteristic of the information science discipline in Beiing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Then it analyzes the opportunities, threats, weaknesses and strengths of the information science discipline in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics using SWOT analysis method, in order to propose a corresponding building strategy.
