On the Deconstructive Power in Ezra Pound’s Translation Thoughts
-
Abstract: Ezra Pound views energy in language as his translation ontology and dispels the fixed meaning in the text; "Translation is creation", this dismisses the authority of the original work and the author; the deconstructive trace displayed in his translation strategy also ensures the survival of original text, decoding the "mode-copy" relationship in traditional translation theory. Ezra Pound’s translation thoughts share an amazing similarity with the Deconstructive Translation Thoughts prevalent half a century later. Profound and intense power of Deconstruction is proved in Ezra Pound’s translation thoughts, and Pound’s prospective ability as a theorist is demonstrated.
