Analysis of the Impact of Cultural Differences on the Diffusion of Information and Communications Technology

摘要: 20世纪五六十年代以来,世界各国信息化发展极为迅速,但因各国文化环境不同,信息化投入的效果会存在一定差异。基于霍夫斯泰德文化框架,应用相关统计方法,分析了信息化扩散过程中各国文化差异对其造成的影响,结果显示,个人主义对各国信息化扩散有促进作用,而女性气质、对不确定因素的避免和长期取向对信息化扩散产生了消极的影响,文化差异是信息化产业投入效果的影响因素。

Abstract: In the past fifty years, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has been developing quite rapidly in the world. The investments in ICT may have different results in different countries due to their different cultural environments. By means of statistics and on the basis of Hofstide's theory, this paper analyses the influences in the progress and spread of ICT in different countries by cultural environments. At the end, the paper gives quantified results about the influences of cultural factors in the progress and spread of ICT.
