Abstract:
The article primarily examines the point that some scholars group poetic schools on the criterion of pursuing truth and antiquity in Dai Zhen's Shijing studies. By analyzing Dai Zhen's pursuit of truth and antiquity in Shijing studies, the author emphasizes that Dai Zhen not only believed in but also sank into antiqui ty. To make it clear, the author discusses the relation between antiquity and t ruth, stating the point that pursuing antiquity is for truth, no antiquity, n o truth. On the basis of these points, the author discusses the reasons for the unconvincing grouping of Wu and Wan schools, believing that this grouping obli terates the relation between truth and antiquity and distorts the historical tra ce of academic development.
