Abstract: The archives of universities are the important database of informati on resources, whose role is featured along with the technological work of a univ ersity. Then how to exploit its value and enhance its role of service is a profo und topic. On the basis of this idea, this paper elaborates the characteristics and value of archice work focusing on the significance, and suggests that the fo llowing 5 aspects should be handled first to achieve a desired transformation an d provide a better service.
