基于MALQ的英语专业学生听力元认知意识的调查

An Investigation of Listening Metacognitive Awareness of English Majors Based on Metacognitive Awareness Listening Questionnaire

  • 摘要: 采用Vandergrift和Goh设计的听力元认知意识调查问卷,对150名英语专业一年级学生的听力元认知意识进行调查,分析了听力元认知意识与听力水平之间的关系。研究表明,调查对象的英语听力元认知意识处于中高水平,其听力元认知意识与听力理解能力相关。其中,解决问题、集中注意力和主体知识这三类元认知意识与听力理解能力成正相关,而心理翻译与听力理解能力成负相关。高、低分两组听力水平的学生在听力元认知意识上存在显著差异。听力元认知意识的培养对听力教学有一定的指导意义。

     

    Abstract: This paper reports a study that investigated the listening metaconitive awareness of 150 first-year English majors by means of Metacognitive Awareness Listening Questionnaire. It finds that the listening metacognitive awareness of the subjects was at the medium or high level,the correlation analysis indicates that three metacognitive awarenesses, namely "problem-solving", "directed attention", and "person knowledge", are positive factors affecting EFL listening while "mental translation" is negative, there exist significant differences in the listening metacognitive awareness among the effective listeners and ineffective listeners. The findings of this study may shed light on EFL listening teaching.
