"Reengineering" or "Return to Education": Comment on U S Engineering Education Reform

  • 摘要: 近20年来发生在美国工程教育领域的一系列改革,被世界公认是最成功的,各国工程教育界纷纷效仿,但结果都不理想。在分析美国工程教育改革现状的基础上,深入探讨其成功背后蕴藏的问题和危机,明确指出中国与美国工程教育的对象和状况迥异,因此中国的工程教育改革不能一味效仿美国,而是应该抓住"回归教育"潮流的大好机遇,深入研究工程教育的本质问题,开辟一条有中国特色的工程教育之路。

     

    Abstract: In the past two decades, a series of reforms in the field of engineering education in the U.S. has been recognized worldwide as the most successful. Peers in other countries have emulated its successful experience one after another, but the results are not satisfactory. This paper analyzes the problems and crises behind its "success", based on the status of the U.S. engineering education reform, and clearly points out the causes why we can not emulate it. As in the following, China can explore its own unique set of engineering education road.
