Abstract: William Faulkner's most valuable short stories have become an essential part of his Yoknapatawpha. His mood toward the South makes his work puzzling and complicated. Through the detailed analysis of Mountain Victory, Barn burning, Lebanon's Rose and A Rose for Emily, one can see the southerners' bursting and acting for transcendence.
