A Comparative Analysis of the Concept of "Fortune and Woe" in Russian and Chinese Idioms and Proverbs

  • 摘要: "祸福"观念是每个民族精神内核的一部分,这一观念蕴含着不同的民族文化特点。"祸福"观念起源于人类原始的精神体验,并随着历史的发展与社会的变迁而发生变化。俄汉民族"祸福"观念具有丰富的内涵,充分反映出两个民族的独特个性、民族精神和不同的宗教背景。成语谚语作为格式化的语言单位是民族智慧的结晶,是观念在语言中的浓缩和精华,构成阐释俄汉民族世界观和价值观的独特角度。

     

    Abstract: Though occupying a great part in each nation's spiritual heritage, the concept of "fortune and woe" displays a variety of characteristics in different national cultures. Originated from human's primitive spiritual experiences, the concept of "fortune and woe" now has apparently changed with the developing steps of history and society. Both Russia and China have rich contents pertaining to the concept of "fortune and woe", which powerfully reflects unique personalities, national spirits, and different religious backgrounds in these two nations. As standardized linguistic units, idioms and proverbs undoubtedly can be treated as products into which national wits condense, as well as the essence that our ideas are reflected in the languages. Additionally, they are effectively dedicated to a novel perspective to demonstrate different outlooks on world and values in Russia and China.
