E-C Translation of Popular Fiction from the Perspective of Reception Theory

  • Reception theory generally shifts the traditional concern in literary studies from the author and the text to the reader, highlighting the active participation of readers in the process of reading. This paper attempts to explore the translation of popular fiction from the perspective of reception theory through an in-depth study of two Chinese versions of The Godfather and proposes a suitable translation strategy, hoping to enhance translators' awareness of the importance of readers and thus to improve the readability of translations.
