Abstract
With the aim to further explore the magic power of literary romanticism, this paper, by using the approaches in comparative literature, offers some analyses of the similarity and difference between British Romantic literature and American Romantic literature. The paper finds that the former appears earlier than the latter, with the former taking the form of poetry while the later the form of fiction. But they are similar in terms of root and theme and they are the same in essence. Romantic literature is a product of social development, and the influence of British romanticism on American romanticism is limited.
