Influential Mechanism of Civil Servants Perceived Circle Insider Status on Task Performance:Based on the Theory of Differential Modes of Association

Abstract
Recent studies propose that "circles phenomenon" inside an organization is a particular style in Chinese context. This study draws on literatures on differential mode of association to explore the influence of perceived circle insider status on task performance from the perspective of subordinate. The result shows that the perceived circle insider status has a significantly positive impact on both task performance and job engagement, with the latter partially mediating the association between the perceived circle insider status and job performance.
