Study on Origin and Research Ideas of Multi-case Oriented Literature Meta-analysis Method

Using the theoretical research method, the paper systematically reviews the literature related to case studies, multi-case studies and meta-analysis. This study finds that the multiple case studies embedded with the quantitative tendency can make up for the meta-analysis method's problems, and comes up with the multi-case oriented literature meta-analysis method and its research ideas. Furthermore, this study finds that the value of the multi-case meta-analysis method can be summarized as easy obtainability of data as well as low research costs, higher reliability and validity, and suitability for constructing new theories. The research design can be divided into research ideas, research steps (divided into 12 steps) and research results (divided into 2 categories and 4 types). It is suggested that the research should be problem-oriented, use the mixing research ideas comprehensively, and pay attention to the research professionalism.
