The Level Measurement and Dynamic Evolution of Digital Rural Construction in China

  • Based on the connotation of digital rural construction, this paper constructs an evaluation index system and measures the level from the six dimensions of digital foundation, digital industry, digital culture, digital governance, digital service and green development, and reveals its spatial difference and dynamic evolution trend from 2012 to 2023. The results show that: First, the level of digital rural construction in China shows a steady growth trend, but the overall level is not high enough. Second, the overall difference in the level of digital rural construction in China is shrinking. The differences between provinces in the eastern region are more significant, and the differences between the eastern and western regions are significant. Thirdly, the center of the nuclear density curve of the whole country and the four major regions shows a right-shift trend as a whole, but there are still large differences among provinces. Therefore, in the future, we should constantly improve the top-level design of digital rural construction, build a strong rural digital infrastructure, and continue to deepen cross-regional cooperation, and strive to create a unique digital rural construction model.
