Iconicity not only exists in phonology, lexicon, syntax, but also in discourse. From the following three perspectives of sequence iconicity, quantity iconicity and marked iconicity, this paper will discuss the ubiquity of iconicity in the d iscourse. In addition, this paper will analyze the cognitive basis for the exist ence of discourse iconicity.
