Protection of space environment has been established as a principle by 1967 Oute r Space Treaty. This idea has also been specifically enshrined in many provision s of space law treaties. Unfortunately, these provisions cannot effectively solv e the problem of pollution of space environment, the space debris in particular. Such absence of systematic legal frame governing space environment is related t o the definition of space debris. Although many technical measures have been tak en within some states, a unified legal regime is still necessary.
