A Research on the Contradiction between the Selection of Excellence and the Equity of Higher Education Access Opportunity

Higher education philosophy has two different bases: epistemology and politicus. For the selection of new students, epistemology wants purely selection of excel lence but one of the politicus- requests is ensuring the social equity. In real society, the distribution of wealth and elementary and secondary education reso urces are unequal. So the selection of excellence and ensuring the social equity are in contradiction. This paper analyzes this contradiction in detail and puts forward some suggestions.
