Exploring on the Thought of Popper's Law——After Reading of The Poverty of Historicism

Historical materialism pioneered by Marxist philosophy is called upon lot of attacks and arraignments. Karl Raimund Popper, with the uniqueness of the historical events and the complexity of society life, denies the existence of law. He thinks the social development only has its tendency, but not law. Popper only considers the one side of historical events with his thinking mode of metaphysics. Historicism never denies the uniqueness of the historical events and the complexity of society life and the tendency of the historical development because those are the base of history law. The historical development is a dialectical unity of contingency, inevitability, selectivity and possibilities.
