Exploration of the Conflict and Coordination of Civil Jurisdiction between Hong Kong and the Mainland

Abstract
Hong Kong was returned in 1997 after one hundred years of humiliation, but ever y aspect of Hong Kong's life has been affected by the UK culture and there are g reat differences in the legal system between the mainland and Hong Kong, it's n o exception with civil and commercial jurisdiction. The paper begins with a case in which the conflict of jurisdiction gives rise to parallel procedures. After the analysis of reasons for the conflict in historical and legal prospects, the author puts forward the solution of harmonization to the matter by drawing on E U's Brussels Convention.
