Phonetic harmony means harmonious pronunciation in segmental phonemes (vowels and consonants) and suprasegmental phonemes (stress, tone, etc). English phonological changes including assimilation, elision or epenthesis and linking occur for least effort and smooth pronunciation. Stress coordinates all the syllables as the pivot of rhythm. Harmony can be found in English pronunciation and word building.
