National Spirit in Context of Modernity: An Analysis Framework Based on Methodology

The modern history of Chinese culture indicates that the methodological consciousness is the premise and foundation of cultural consciousness. The epistemological way, constructing national spirit by interpreting classics, is circumscribed in methodology. The substance of national spirit is a kind of modernistic cultural reproduction. Taking Marxism’s critique and transcendence to modernistic problems as the mental resource and methodological, and propelling the Sinicization of Marxism is a practical road for establishing national spirit.
