A New Concept of Development: Perroux's Contribution to the Evolution of the Concept of Development

To understand the nature of development, people have gone through a long and arduous process. Development or economic growth overseas and other early concepts of development do not accurately reveal the nature of development. Reviewing both Perroux's works, as well as the evolution of the concept of development since then, this paper argues that the new concept of development put forward by Perroux expands the research vision of the development knowledge, re-establishes the philosophical foundation of the concept of development and makes an important contribution for the future evolution of the concept of development.
