Adopting legal type theory, the paper classifies the component part suppliers which participate in the design of the component and its integration to the aircraft as independent component suppliers. They share the nature of that of aviation manufacturers and that shall assume strict liability in design defect and warning defect. Those which do not participate in either of the design processes are classified as dependent component supplier. They do not share aviation manufaturers'nature and shall assume negligence liability in design defect and warning defect. The paper holds, however, that these suppliers shall all assume strict liability in manufacturing defect.
