Abstract
In the past two decades, a series of reforms in the field of engineering education in the U.S. has been recognized worldwide as the most successful. Peers in other countries have emulated its successful experience one after another, but the results are not satisfactory. This paper analyzes the problems and crises behind its "success", based on the status of the U.S. engineering education reform, and clearly points out the causes why we can not emulate it. As in the following, China can explore its own unique set of engineering education road.
